Purpose: Get already-convered Requiem 2.0.2 running in new SSE install. Covers only the minimum mods to get Requiem running. The intended audience is people who want to try SSE, but aren't up to diving straight into doing mod conversions (and who will only play a Skyrim with Requiem). Started with this page: https://www.loverslab.com/topic/91985-requiem-v1941-and-v202-for-sse-conversion-guide-for-mod-organizer/?page=2 This post/page is an update to the "how to convert yourself" directions on page 1, and where you should be if you want to do that and/or learn about what's involved for converting other mods. Useful links to download tools, etc... BUT probably not the place to start. Go back one page in that discussion thread to be at page 1: https://www.loverslab.com/topic/91985-requiem-v1941-and-v202-for-sse-conversion-guide-for-mod-organizer/ This is the original "how to convert manually" directions page Climbatiz provided. This post has, at the top, links to download a fully-converted v2.0.2 for SSE. This is 600mb and contains the converted Req 2.02 mod, as if you had downloaded it directly from Nexus mods page BUT with changes already made to make the .esp's, meshes, reqtificator.jar, etc compatible with Skyrim SE. Backup link: https://www.mediafire.com/folder/clga2cj5i0bh8/Requiem_v2.0.2 There is also a link to the post author's personal archive of Requiem related mods he's converted. (The "Requiem v2.0.2 FULL for SSE" link is in fact a download of one of the files on this server.) If that set of "already converted" mods is not enough, then you can read the full post to get some insight into what's involved in possibly converting other mods (though also see the post on thread page 2, as there's info there as well). There are useful download links on both pages, but there's also links for a bunch of stuff you don't need if you aren't going to convert the mods yourself... so I suggest not downloading anything until you need it in the directions that follow. Directions: 2. I started with a clean install of Steam client, clean install of SSE, clean install of Mod Organizer. Ran MO, had it recognize SSE game, and start with clean default profile containg just the DLC's. 3. Download the SKSE 64 (link on forum thread second page, same link as for SKSE generally -- look for "Current SE build" download link on SKSE webpage) I have Steam installed at: c:\Steam I have tools (mod organizer, java, etc) in folders here: c:\skyrim_tools 4. Install SKSE Best instructions: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1197413219 Video link from SKSE page: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xTGnQIiNVqA Suggestion: Skip ahead to 5:30 where directions actually start... Short version: copy all the skse* files into root of skyrim SE steam game directory, put data folder contents into skyrim se Data folder. 5. Verify that Mod Organizer picks up SKSE as an registered executable. If not, add it, but should recognize automatically if you quit and restart. 8. Install mod: SSE Engine Fixes (bug fixes mod, for SSE). There are two parts to this, and one has to be done manually. See files tab on nexus page. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/17230 6. Install mod Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch (normal mod install with Mod Organizer) https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/266 7. Install Sky UI for SSE (so you can use MCM in game). Helpful link on pg 2 of forum thread. Use Mod Organizer to download, install, activate just like any mod. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/12604 8. Use the link to download the full pre-converted requiem mod: http://www.everplanet.tk/SkyrimSSE/Requiem_v2.0.2/Requiem_v2.0.2_for_SSE-FULL.rar 9. Install requiem in Mod Organizer (MO > Install mod from Archive > Requiem_v2.0.2_for_SSE-FULL.rar) WARNING: whoever built this put in files that overwrie meshes/textures from Immersive Weapons Use MO file tree to hide: meshes/74_w textures/74_w textures/Weapons/Dragonbane Here, it's best to go to the Requeiem install directions and follow along there. It will tell you about installing, how to set up Reqtificator, etc. https://requiem.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/REQ19/pages/18252027/Installing+Requiem You'll need to selectively filter directions: - You already have Sky UI - you DO NOT want the unoffical skyrim patches (they're for Oldrim) - you don't have previous versions to uninstall - you already downloaded the mod - So you're skipping up to requiem directions step 4, installing with mod manager. Install req mod from archive .rar, activate. (NOTE: during mod install, there is a "Requiem for SSE Notes" step. Read the notes! Added by Climbatiz that I cover below, and explain why I found some of it misleading or incorrect.) 10. Fix .esp order Important! Mod Organizer often puts the Bugsmasher .esp before Requiem, and my experience was that when I overlooked fixing this it caused the Reqtificator to either not run, or to run and "hang" at 80% -- without any error message or explanation. Also, this note from Climbatiz: Requiem Records Fix note: *IMPORTANT!!!* Make sure this file, the 'Requiem Records Fix.esp' is at the top in your load order, but below any DLCs. So order is now: Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch Requiem Records Fix SkyUI_SE Requiem Requiem - Legendary Bugsmasher 10. Java setup Reqtificator requires Java to run, download it here: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/index.html Should be straightforward, but I had problems with the current full JDK version: jdk-11.0.1_windows-x64_bin Java had trouble launching, or just failed silently. Resorting to ealier just-JRE version worked: jre-8u191-windows-x64.exe I installed at default C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.8.0_192\bin\java.exe 11. Setup Reqtificator -- per notes in requiem install directions Climbatiz notes, with my interjected >> comments: -- notes -- The Reqtificator needs to be moved from your Requiem mod installation into your Skyrim Data folder like: 'DRIVE:\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\Data\SkyProc Patchers\Requiem' >> NOT TRUE >> Create '...\Data\SkyProc Patchers\Requiem' in skyrim dir, but otherwise >> leave things as-is. Then add the Reqtificator in MO2 by clicking EDIT in the custom Run menu, see image for Launch Arguments or copy these values (remember to edit Drive Letter): >> NOTE: do not inclue the ' characters when you fill in the fields! Binary 'C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.8.0_192\bin\java.exe' >> yours may be different Start In: 'C:\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\Data\SkyProc Patchers\Requiem' Arguments: '-jar "C:\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\Data\SkyProc Patchers\Requiem\Reqtificator.jar"' >> NO. Just use '-jar Reqtificator.jar' >> Mod organizer takes care of things. Follow requiem intall guide as your example. >> If there is a reason for these odd directions, I've not found it. Also, While using the Reqtificator you will get error messages about missing SKSE plugin dll files, these specific plugins do not exist for SSE, plus the error message ingame can be disabled in bottom of Requiem MCM menu >> TRUE. Reqtificator will warn about missing crash/bug fix mods that LE uses, but which >> don't apply to SE. Just requiem devs providing useful suggestions for LE world. -- end notes -- 12. Run reqtificator from within Mod Organizer Run and let it do it's thing, follow requiem install directions for what to do with results after it finishes. (For me, using JRE for java 8, Reqtificator hung without an error message when I had my .esp files out of order. Fixing that fixed the reqtificator issue.) Some suggested additonal arguments you can try adding if you think you're having reqtificator memory issues (I did not use them, just -jar): arguments: -jar Reqtificator.jar -Xmx512m -REQMYMEMORY 13. Enable your Requiem for the Indifferent, and you should be able to run SSE. Here, as as noted in Climbatiz comments, requiem will throw up a warning about "Important Plugins Missing" (missing .dll files). While not ideal, it is safe to ignore these. Requiem has an MCM menu option to disable them once you're in the game. Adding More, waring about LOOT LOOT sorter consistently puts requeiem.esp and Requiem - Legendary Bugsmasher Edition.esp in the wrong place. --> Be sure to fix them if you LOOT sort, every time! Use MO file tree to hide: textures/armor/orcish textures/weapons/orcish Karna's Color Booser Eventually omitted entirely. Found the HDR mod (below) was what was washing out colors, and once that was removed even the lighter 30% version of this mod wasn't needed any longer. True Shades of Skyrim ReShade (put files in game executable directory) Did turn off the first effect (DPX?) -- too much red color Does make a 10% hit on framerate (Riften exterior, etc) Can turn off all but Curves, Clarity to lower FPS hit. Later reduced to just Curves. Gives color change but still ~39 framerate in Rift. EDIT: disabled/deleted. Seems to be causing computer freezes often. Relighting Skyrim Can make some corners darker, but overall adds more than it subtracts. Moved the NoRadialBlur and NoMoreBloom/HDR .esps way down in load order Loot put them at 18-20, but want to be sure they're being applied. Put just above alternate start. Discovered that NoMoreHDR is: a) canceling effect of Karna color booster if loaded after b) muting color spectrum, muting color contrast -- more washed out Removed NoMoreHDR entirely, which eliminated need for Karna booster. Did leave the "NoMoreBloom.esp" part of the mod, though. --------------- Game Settings --------------- Start with high Resolution 2560x1440 Antialiasing FXAA (Low) Shadow quality/distance, Decal Quantity: High Godrays Quality: medium Turn off lens Flare That with ReShade minimal gets 34-38 in Rift, 38-42 exiting Whiterun gate path viewing mountains. --------------- FIXES --------------- Found that note images were not appearing: Treasure maps DB "we know" hand note Reference: skyrim.esm > Books > DBEntranceLetter (5224a) Record data: image://textures/interface/books/DBHand.png When I put an image there manually (Data/textures/...) it showed. Found image in the "skyrim - Textures4.bsa" file, and if I manually extracted that with BAE.exe, game found it. So it's like game coudn't find resource in its own .bsa file. Used bae.exe to extract Textures4.bsa > textures > interace > books (only) into sse Data/... folder. Fixed it. Tried extracting ALL .bsa game files, but that caused massive impact on game lauch time. Some notes about other files: Java -- Reqtificator requires this to run, so must install (64 bit). Had trouble with latest version (11), had to go back to JRE 1.8 Reqtificator v2.02 -- included in Requiem_v2.0.2_for_SSE-FULL.rar, so only need if doing manual conversion http://www.everplanet.tk/SkyrimSSE/Requiem_v2.0.2/Reqtificator202_UNIVERSAL.rar Tools for converting mods.
